Charcoal, twelve plus hours. I don't remember exactly how long this took; I spent all of Memorial Day and the day before working on it. I'll be submitting it tomorrow for an open call exhibition in Encinitas - if I'm lucky it'll be hanging in a gallery there for the month of June. Honestly though, I don't care if the judges like it or not - it was intended to be a gift to the sitter and her opinion is what really counts in the end. I hope she likes it.

Wow Sherwin! This is really lovely. I love way you worked the light and how her hair looks - very realistic.
Even if it isn't in the gallery, it's really beautiful.
